Hub Theatre Outing: "The Good Soldier Svejk" October 31st

Hub member Carol Dance has adapted the beloved comic novel "The Good Soldier Svejk" for the stage. Svejk is cheerful, unshakeable, unpredictable and seemingly simple – yet somehow, he survives (and quietly subverts) a world gone mad around him. He is the 'Everyman' who reminds us of the resilience of the human spirit. Svejk miraculously survives war, gaol, military blunders and bureaucracy gone mad. Always an obedient soldier, Svejk follows every order so precisely that his glorious ineptitude unravels the system.

Getting there: The Hub Group will meet at Waverton Train Station at 2.00 on October 31, travel to Town Hall Station and walk 5 minutes to the Castlereagh Boutique Hotel, 169 Castlereagh Street. The Svejk Bar opens in the venue at 2.30 and the actors and Carol Dance will join us there to talk about the play and introduce the actors. The play finishes at 4.30. The Group then have the option to go to the lounge.  We will send those who have booked for this matinee performance more information closer to the time.
