Elder abuse, family violence, coersive control...

05th May 2025
There is so much more to Domestic Violence than the headlines. The Hub Speaker on May 12, 2025 presented some very confronting and worrying information about domestic violence encompassing elder abuse, coercive control, stalking and harrassment and much more.

Dr. Mandy Ellis, who has extensive experience working the Family Court of Australia gave the audience an insight into this important problem, one we all need to know about.

"The problem belongs to every member of society" is the title of the first slide in Dr Ellis' talk - which you can download when you click For More Information - see below. The slide also says" The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men (people) to do nothing".

We were surprised that only a few members of the Hub attended this talk, which covered information of use to all age groups, especially those with children or friends in troubled relationships. If you missed the talk please take the time to download it now and consider the issues addressed.

Dr Mandy Ellis has a Doctorate in Educational and Developmental Psychology, a Masters in School Psychology and a BSc in Psychology and has extensive experience in working with the Family Court of Australia as a Child Expert. She was an engrossing speaker and those who attended had many questions for her.
