Hilary: Our Bushcare veteran retires
26th March 2026
Hilary is a familiar face on the Monday out-of-area walks, where her deep knowledge of Sydney’s bushland is often called upon and greatly appreciated. She has a knack for bringing the landscape to life, sharing insights about local flora, fauna, and the stories behind the places we pass through. Her interest in history extends beyond the bush, with a strong grasp of local heritage that adds an extra layer of richness to every walk.
While Hilary isn’t often seen at other Hub events, there’s a good reason—she’s a very busy woman. One of her great passions is family history, a field she is deeply engaged in. She also generously gives her time as a volunteer with the Society of Australian Genealogists, supporting others in uncovering their own stories and connections to the past.
Whether on the trail or behind the scenes in genealogical research, Hilary’s enthusiasm for history—in all its forms—shines through.
In the Bushcare newsletter, Hilary's work for the organisation is acknowledged as she retires from this role. You can read the full profile here.
