Waverton Hub Film Nights – For Lovers of the Classics

Waverton Hub is introducing a Film Night at the Mess Hall at the Coal Loader—perfect for those who love settling in with a great movie in good company.

Join us for the first screening in this new series:

Our first feature is the classic film Double Indemnity – a gripping, stylish noir that has stood the test of time and is always a pleasure to revisit (or discover for the first time).

Come along, bring a friend from the Hub, and enjoy a cosy night of classic cinema.

If the coming months prove a success, we’ll be expanding the program to include a wonderful mix of films—foreign language favourites (with subtitles) alongside some of the all-time great classics. Think unforgettable cinema like Fellini’s La Strada, Sansho the Bailiff, and Bong Joon Ho’s Parasite.

Our Film Nights will be hosted by Peter Rayner, Hub member and devoted film buff, who presented movies at the Sydney Mechanics’ Institute for many years. He now brings his knowledge and extensive film library to the Hub. Each screening will include a brief introduction, along with a handout to enhance your viewing.

Entry is $10, and booking is essential so we know how many chairs to set up.
